Taken from the Harris Tweed Act 1993, Harris Tweed® is a tweed which has been:

“FINISHED in the Outer Hebrides”

Harris Tweed® cloth can only be finished – washed, beaten, dried, steamed, pressed, cropped, stamped – in the Outer Hebrides and nowhere else in the world.
