Committed to designing and creating high quality slippers, loungewear and homewares, the ‘Bedroom Athletics’ team takes pride in their brand values – quality and customer care, first and foremost – while welcoming a little light-hearted fun along the way.
How the Bedroom Athletics Story Began:
In 2007, Bedroom Athletics launched the ‘Marilyn Slipper Boot’ for women. A cosy, comfortable and ‘pretty cool boot’, perfect for winter lounging around the home, with a faux fur exterior and real suede sole. The Marilyn quickly became a favourite and shot to the top of many Christmas lists. Style magazines raved; John Lewis stores were stampeded; and the Marilyn quickly sold out.
Bedroom Athletics was catapulted into the limelight by this now ‘iconic’ design and the Marilyn remains their absolute bestseller today, though now part of an extensive range of indoor slippers, all-season indoor/outdoor footwear and dressing gowns for men and women, plus a growing collection of luxury homewares.
Why Harris Tweed® fabric?
The Bedroom Athletics team was looking for a ‘top quality, internationally recognised British made fabric’ to produce a higher profile product. Naturally, our industry’s handwoven Harris Tweed® fabric ticked each box, and has repeatedly been the Bedroom Athletics’ choice of fabric now for eight years.
“We see more and more younger people loving our Harris Tweed® range, recognising the great quality and also the beautiful colours of the fabrics and the provenance and background story.” – Gwyneth Moore, Head of Marketing (Bedroom Athletics)
What can be seen on the Horizon?
There is much excitement around the new Bedroom Athletics collections coming out this Spring/Summer and Autumn/Winter which will include new styles and shapes, transition slippers and slides for both indoor and outdoor wear, the continuation of their classic boots and, of course, their ever popular collection of Harris Tweed® slippers. Warm Harris Tweed® upper, soft grade A Australian sheepskin inside lining, an iconic Harris Tweed® Orb certification label and a firm, durable non-slip sole – what else does a luxury slipper need?
