The Harris Tweed® Journal

Hattie Green

13th December

Say hello to Hattie, a Fashion Student from the UHI.

Hattie has been volunteering in our office here in Stornoway over the past couple of weeks. Talking about her experience she said ‘It has been incredibly eye-opening to see the effort and dedication that goes into protecting the Harris Tweed® brand and the heritage of the cloth, and to truly appreciate the community behind the entire Harris Tweed® process – it is something very special.’

Hattie was working on a few research projects for us including collating a list of tailors across the UK, who could potentially manufacture bespoke Harris Tweed® garments. She also had an opportunity to look through old files in order to date Harris Tweed® labels, a task she described as ‘thrilling’.

The team here at the HTA would like to warmly thank Hattie for her time with us, it has been lovely to get to know her and we greatly appreciate her energy, enthusiasm, and positivity for our industry. Hattie
