The Harris Tweed® Journal

Weavers Archive

18th June

Behind the cloth, a trip down memory lane in exquisite black and white.
With help from our #HarrisTweedFamily we have managed to establish the names of the people in these beautiful archive photographs.

The weavers pictured are:
Calum Macaskill – Calum Mhurchaidh Chalum – of Melbost Borve.
Donald ‘Dan’ Macleod of Lemreway.
John – Iain ‘Crochaidh’ – MacGregor of Garenin who sometimes demonstrated the Hattersley loom to visitors.
Murdo ‘Bloxy’ Murray of Back with his daughter Jayne.

It is wonderful to see these Harris Tweed® weavers standing in the doorways of their loomsheds.
