The Harris Tweed® Journal

Yarn Store

30th September

This fantastic archive photograph was shot in the yarn store of the Kenneth Mackenzie Harris Tweed® Mill on the Isle of Lewis. Imagine this photograph in colour! Each one of these bobbins is a different hue of dyed and spun yarn waiting to be sent to weavers’ homes across the island and made into Harris Tweed® fabric. It’s a lovely thought that these yarns are still somewhere in the world, now in the form of a favourite jacket, or a well-worn bunnet.
